Trekking Permits & Travel Insurance

Trekking Permits
All trekkers in Nepal must obtain the required permits before entering trekking regions. The permits help ensure safety, record trekker information, and support conservation efforts.

Common Permits Required:

  • TIMS Card (Trekkers Information Management System): Required for most trekking routes.

  • National Park / Conservation Area Permits:

    • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

    • Sagarmatha National Park Permit (Everest Region)

    • Langtang National Park Permit

  • Restricted Area Permits:
Required for special regions like Upper Mustang, Manaslu, Dolpo, and other controlled areas. These permits are issued only through registered travel agencies.

Selected Tour and Travel will assist you with all necessary trekking permits to ensure a smooth and legal trekking experience.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for anyone trekking in Nepal, especially in high-altitude areas. Your insurance should include:

  • Emergency medical treatment

  • High-altitude sickness coverage

  • Helicopter rescue and evacuation

  • Trip cancellation or interruption

  • Lost baggage or personal items

High-altitude treks such as Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Manaslu, and Langtang require proper rescue coverage for safety.

We advise travelers to purchase insurance in their home country before arriving in Nepal. Carrying a digital or printed copy of the policy is helpful during your trek.
